Sewing for the summer! Just one more week and then I'm going to enjoy my summer holiday! In the past couple of weeks I've been busy sewing my Summer Wardrobe. My Instagram posts of these gorgeous fabrics marked the start of this fun project! The fabric on top is from Lulu Designs (aka @sew__delicious) which I won in the #sewapril2019 challenge together with this beautiful floral one. The fabrics were turned into a ruffled skirt and a jiffy top.  For the BERNINA blog I wrote about this skirt. I added a ruffle to a BERNINA wrap skirt.  Go to the BERNINA blog. For the top I used a  Making Patterns Fly  pattern and it turned out to be a jiffy make. I shortened it because I didn't have as much fabric as described. Vind jij het ook lastig om de restjes van dat leuke stofje weg te gooien? Ik wel! Hoe vaak is het niet voorgekomen dat als ik het dan weggooi ik in diezelfde week nog bedenk wat ik er toch mee had kunnen doen.... Vroeger bewaarde mijn moeder al restjes stof. Ideaal om poppen-jurkjes te maken. Misschien is het toen ontstaan, dat ik ook restjes bewaar. ( English version) Keuze genoeg Tijd om de berg restjes eens te laten slinken. Inmiddels heb ik namelijk redelijk wat restjes tricot en deze selectie past qua kleur en dessin leuk bij elkaar. Nu nog een plan om ze op een leuke manier te verwerken. Ik ging op zoek naar een patroon voor een jurkje met veel patroondelen die ik makkelijk in kleinere patroondelen zou kunnen knippen. Het werd dit jurkje uit de nieuwste Knipmode. Do you also find it difficult to throw away the leftovers of that lovely fabric? I do! More than once it happened that when I throw it away I think of something that I could have done with it .... My mother use to keep scraps of fabric too. Ideal for making dolls dresses. Perhaps it then emerged, that I keep leftovers. ( Nederlandse versie) Scrapbusting Time to shrink that stash of leftovers. I have a lot of leftover jersey and the selection I made fits nicely together in terms of color and design. Now a plan to process them in a fun way. I went looking for a pattern for a dress with many pattern pieces that I could easily cut into smaller pattern pieces. It was this dress from Knipmode.
