A recap of my Minervacrafts blogs!

One year anniversary!

It was a 'busew' year! In which I wrote 13 blogposts for the Minervacrafts website. Such al lovely collaboration which allows me to work with the most beautiful fabrics and I loved every minute of it!

At this moment 10 blogs are posted online, three more are scheduled for later this year. And some new fabrics are on it's way to be reviewed and turned into LIESL - creations.

Ten LIESL's in a row

One

The first blog I wrote was this one about the famous Kielo Wrap Dress from Named Clothing. My version with longer sleeves has a bit of an Asian theme. Read about it here

Two

The second blog was a bigger project with lots of embellishments: The pink polka-dot trenchcoat. I was inspired by a trenchcoat I saw and tried to recreate it.  Want to see if I've succeeded? Click here.

Three

The third one was a dress again in a 'love at first sight' fabric. I have a soft spot for graphic fabrics in black-and-white with a dash of color. This John Kaldor fabric has all of it. Check out the blog here.

Four

The forth was al about fur! Fake fur that is. With three different fur fabrics I created a colorblock jacket. Which was my favorite piece to wear last winter (and probably next winter too). Read the blog here.

Five

My first time working with fur was followed by my first time working with velvet. It brought back some sweet memories about a velvet sweater I owned when I was a kid. I upgraded the velvet sweater by adding some Victorian touches and a lovely bow. See how I did that over here.

Six

In the next blouse I again encorporated a bow. This pussy bow blouse is made of an ex-Armani silk fabric. Such a once in a life time experience to work with such an outstanding fabric. Curious? Go to the blog.

Seven

A wrapdress in a floral rust stretch fabric was my next Minervacrafts project. On my Instagram account I asked for some help deciding which pattern to use. I was a bit indecisive. I went for a Knipmode dress which is really popular among their readers. I now understand why....such a comfy but yet flattering dress. See it over here.

Eight

This blog was about a versatile piece: A kimono. To wear with jeans or no jeans...I mean as a dress of course ;-) I pre-styled this project just to see if the pieces would go together. And if they eventually did, you can check out here.

Nine

The ninth blog was about a big striped two piece dress. Yet another versatile piece. Looooove those big stripes and the two piece factor which allowes me to mix and match other pieces in my wardrobe. A lot of options, which one do you prefer? Check it here.

Ten

The latest blog that was put online is the one about the Tie Dye Suit. I think I am in love with this suit. The fabric was perfect for the idea that I had envisioned. The outcome was even better that I could imagine. It is one of my favorite makes thusfar. Read about it here.

It was such an inspiring and sew-tastic year. I would like to thank Minervacrafts for giving me the opportunity to work with this wonderful variety of fabrics!

Love,

Marlies

Men's suit magic!

Turn a unloved suit into something new  (#therefashioners2017)  Nederlandse versie That's the challenge I encountered on Instagram and it's right up my alley: Making an existing outfit into something new or partly reusing it IS SÓ MUCH FUN. #loveit I did not have a suit that I wanted to remake, so the first part of this challenge started. Shopping! Looking for that unloved suit to be dramatically remade. At my third(!) trip to the second hand shop I choose the only suit that was available as a whole set. In fact, it was still very beautiful and it looked exactly like a suit that my love once had...?  Coincidence! The fabric does not have a very exciting print, but luckily it's oversized so there is enough fabric to spice it up. Let the magic begin: transform a neat men's suit into a cool women's suit that I can wear daily. Dismantle While dismantling the suit I saved as much original detail as I could. Interesting to see how such a suit is ma

Een comfortabel LIESL damespak

I. Made. A. Suit! English...click here! Jasje Marie, Knipmode januari 2018 Jasje Ester, Knipm
